Our First Season of This Week In The IFL

Final Episode features United Bowl Champs and expansion franchise

AMARILLO, TX - One of the top players in the 2010 United Bowl for the Billings Outlaws is featured on the final episode of the season of This Week In the IFL.
Join host Denis J. Puska as he visits with Timothy Brown who had more than 120 all-purpose yards for Billings in the championship victory over the Sioux Falls Storm. Brown had 64 kick-return yards and a touchdown, 47 yards receiving and a touchdown and 14 rushing yards and another major score.
There are expected to be several expansion franchises in the IFL next season. Lehigh Valley was announced as one of those new teams a few weeks ago, and Executive Vice President Mike Clark will be on This Week In The IFL to talk about the new franchise and how they hope to draw some of the top talented players from the state to the team.
Puska will also visit with Director of Football Operations and VP of Communications Mike Allshouse who will talk about the past season and planning for 2011 that has already begun.

 

The two teams who will go head to head in this Saturday's United Bowl will be featured on Episode 19 of This Week In the IFL

Join host Denis J. Puska as he visits with players from both the Sioux Falls Storm and the Billings Outlaws to talk about their opponents and the big game.
Sioux Falls quarterback Terrance Bryant and linebacker Mark Blackburn will talk about the respect the two teams have for one another and some of the keys they see to beating Billings.
Outlaws' quarterback Chris Dixon and defensive lineman Michael Bazemore will also guest on This Week In The IFL to discuss their conference final victory over the Arkansas Diamonds and about trying to capture back-to-back championships.

A United Conference Final Preview on Episode 18

A preview of both conference championship games highlights Episode 18 of This Week in the IFL.
Join host Denis J. Puska as he speaks with the head coaches from both the Wichita Wild and the Sioux Falls Storm who will battle for the United Conference title. Wichita Head Coach Ken Matous has his team back in the conference final and talks about going to Sioux Falls and playing in front of a noisy crowd.
Sioux Falls Head Coach Curtiss Riggs is also on This Week In the IFL to talk about his team's experience in the big games and about playing the Wild for the fourth time this season.
The Intense Conference final between the Arkansas Diamonds and the Billings Outlaws is also previewed. Fans can also get the latest news and notes from around the league including a press conference for an expansion franchise for the east as well as coaching announcement in Bloomington.

Arkansas' Head Coach and the IFL Commissioner featured on Episode 17

 A top playoff Coach and the Indoor Football League Commissioner are featured guests on Episode 17 of "This Week In the IFL".

Join host Denis J. Puska as he visits with Head Coach Danton Barto of the Arkansas Diamonds. Barto has has guided the Diamonds to the Intense Conference Semi-Finals against the Amarillo Venom. This will be the third time this season the two teams meet

In the midst of playoff fever, Commissioner Tommy Benizio also joins the show. A wide array of topics will be discussed such as some of the expansion that will take place next season.

Also lined up for the show will be a review of the recently announce IFL Awards. This includes who made the first and second All-IFL teams.

Richmond Revolution and Billings Outlaws are featured on Episode 16

Two of the top teams during the regular season in the Indoor Football League are featured on Episode 16 of This Week In the IFL.
Join host Denis J. Puska as he visits with Head Coach Steve Criswell of the Richmond Revolution. Criswell, who was selected as IFL Coach Of The Year, guided the Revolution to the best overall record in the league. The Revolution will host the Rochester Raiders in the first round of the IFL playoffs.
It's been a week of adversity for the Billings Outlaws who had their arena damaged by a tornado and must play home playoff games at their practice facility. Head Coach Heron O'Neal will be on This Week In the IFL to discuss how his team is dealing with the adversity and about preparations for their first round playoff game against the Tri-Cities Fever.

New Tucson expansion team and the rising Roughnecks on Episode 15

One of the hottest teams in the Indoor Football League over the last three weeks and a new club set to join next season are highlighted on Episode 15 of This Week In The IFL.

Join host Denis J. Puska as he visits with Head Coach Chris Williams of the playoff bound West Texas Roughnecks who have won three games in a row and four of their last five. After a rough start, theRoughnecks have put things together and hope to hit the playoffs on a great note with a win this weekend in Corpus Christi.

The Indoor Football League will be welcoming a new team in Tucson, Arizona next season. General Manager and co-owner Dart Clark will guest on This Week In the IFL to talk about preparations for season one, including their name the team search.

Join host Denis J. Puska as he visits with quarterback Perry Patterson of the Rochester Raiders. Patterson propelled the Raiders to a huge win over the Chicago Slaughter in the first IFL rules game played outdoors.
The Green Bay Blizzard can host a playoff game with a win in their final two games of the regular season. Running back Randy Bell will guest on This Week In the IFL to discuss how his team is feeling heading into the playoffs and about the Chicago-Green Bay rivalry.

Three rising teams are featured on Episode 13

CLEVELAND, OH - Three rising teams fighting for playoff positioning are featured on Episode 13 of This Week In the IFL.
Join host Denis J. Puska as he visits with Head Coach Stephen Fillmore of the Corpus Christi Hammerheads who recently had his contract extended to next season. The Hammerheads have won four of their last five games, including a key win over the Amarillo Venom.
The Wichita Wild have a explosive and dynamic offense that includes running back Darius Fudge who has 539 yards rushing and 21 touchdowns. Fudge is a guest on This Week In The IFL to talk about his team's upcoming schedule and what they will need to do to be successful in the playoffs.
Sioux Falls Storm kick-returner and wide receiver James Terry was chosen as the Vidswap.com Specialty Teams Player of the Week for his explosive work over the weekend. Terry will visit with host Denis J. Puska to discuss his 50-yard return for a touchdown and how he hopes to continue as a kick returner for the Storm.

CLEVELAND, OH - Quarterbacks from two of the hottest teams in the Indoor Football League, and a wide-out of a team from the Pacific Northwest highlight Episode 12 of This Week In The IFL.
Join host Denis J. Puska as he visits with quarterback Ben Sanky of the Omaha Beef who is among the IFL leaders in touchdowns, total yards and fewest interceptions.
The Fairbanks Grizzlies won their first game ever over the Billings Outlaws last weekend. Quarterback Justin Rummell, who threw the winning touchdown and scored the two point conversion, will be on This Week In the IFL to discuss that contest and their game plan versus this weekend's opponent the Tri-Cities Fever.
Puska will also speak with wide receiver Thyron Lewis of the Tri-Cities Fever who will talk about a former Dallas Cowboys receiver who influenced his career.

Join host Denis J. Puska as he spends time with Jarrett Payton of the Chicago Slaughter who is the son of late Chicago Bears great Walter Payton. Jarrett will talk about his return to the city of Chicago and the great community work he is doing in the city. 
The Colorado Ice notched their first victory of the season over the weekend and their solid play was ignited by rookie quarterback David Knighton. He will be on This Week In the IFL to discuss that first win and what the Ice will have to do to keep rolling.
The expansion Kent Predators have been playing well in recent weeks and are coming off their fourth win of the season. Coach William McCarthy visits with host Denis J. Puska to discuss his young team's maturity and its drive for consistency. 
A news and notes segment explores the recent news concerning two IFL players signing north of the border and community work by the La Crosse Spartans and the Fairbanks Grizzlies. 

Two great coaches and a Kick Return specialist highlight Episode 10

CLEVELAND, OH - The Indoor Football League has a talented roster of coaches this season and two of them are featured on Episode 10 of This Week In the IFL.
Join host Denis J. Puska as he visits with Head Coach Jon Lyles of the Amarillo Venom which won their first seven games of the season. The Venom will look to make it eight wins in nine starts when they take on the San Angelo Stampede-Express this weekend.
Head Coach Ken Matous of the Wichita Wild will also be on the show. Matous has the Wild 6-3 and second place in their division. Wichita takes on the Sioux City Bandits this weekend in a key divisional game. 
Damarcus James of the Richmond Revolution is one of the top kick returners in the Indoor Football league this season. James will be on This Week In the IFL to talk about winning the Vidswap.com Special Teams Player Of The Week and his big game over the weekend against Maryland.

Three top players highlight Episode 9

CLEVELAND, OH - Three players from the offensive side of the football highlight Episode 9 of This Week In the IFL
Join host Denis J. Puska as he visits with running back Mark Bonds of the La Crosse Spartans who has over 300 yards and 12 touchdowns. The Spartans won their first game of the season over the weekend by beating the Chicago Slaughter. 
Kicker Rob Zarilli of the Sioux Falls Storm will also be on This Week In the IFL to talk about his craft and on is travels during his collegiate days. Zarilli had three more field goals as Sioux Falls notched their seventh win of the season.
Brad Icek of the West Michigan Thunderhawks is one of the great young quarterbacks in the IFL this season. Icek visits with host Denis J. Puska to discuss his season to date and the state of Michigan feel on the Thunderhawks. Icek has thrown for 1,723 yards and 32 touchdowns. Both of those figures are among the leaders in the IFL this season.
There is also a recap of the past week of action in the IFL and a fresh installment of By The Numbers that focuses on the kickers. The news and notes section of the show will discuss the coaching change in Bloomington, and the Wichita Wild Assistant Coach being elected to the Wichita Sports Hall of Fame.

DEFENSE BATTLE CRY ON EPISODE 8

 

CLEVELAND, OH - D-E-F-E-N-S-E is the battle cry on Episode 8 of This Week In the IFL.
Join host Denis J. Puska as he visits with two top defensive specialists in the Indoor Football League and a Head Coach from one of the very competitive teams.
The Green Bay Blizzard are off to a 7-1 start and one of the reasons for their success is Maurice Simpkins who leads the IFL in tackles. Simpkins will visit with Puska to talk about the Blizzard's quick start and the challenges of playing defense in the IFL.
It's going to be a terrific battle for playoff spots in the second half of the season in the league, and one of those clubs expected to be in the hunt is the Bloomington Extreme. Puska will speak to Joe Bevis who leads a talented Extreme defensive corps. Bevis will talk about an outstanding Central-North Division and the solid fan base in Bloomington.
Omaha Beef Head Coach Pat Pimmel will also be on This Week In The IFL to talk about his great quarterback Ben Sanky and what is team will need to do to be successful in the second half of the season.

Primetime quarterbacks and The Stampede-Express on Episode 7

CLEVELAND, OH - Two of the top quarterbacks in the Indoor Football League as well as one of the top teams in the Intense Conference are all featured on Episode 7 of This Week In the IFL.
Join host Denis J. Puska as he visits with Chris Dixon of the Billings Outlaws who are coming off a big victory over the weekend against the Alaska Wild. The Outlaws will be showcasing their talent on the second IFL National Broadcast against the Fairbanks Grizzlies on May 8.
The Kent Predators have won three games in a row thanks in part to the strong arm of quarterback Charles McCallum will be on the show to discuss the team's success and their upcoming schedule.
The San Angelo Stampede-Express' defense has been outstanding this season and part of the reason they are 4-2 and second Lonestar East Division. Puska will speak to Head Coach Dolezel about the team's vaunted defense.

 

Bryan Randall, Steve McMichael, and Danton Barto on latest episode

CLEVELAND, OH - Two teams that are off to great starts and another that is on the rise are featured on this week's all new edition of This Week In the IFL.
Join host Denis J. Puska as he visits with Quarterback Bryan Randall of the Richmond Revolution. Randall helped the Revolution beat the previously unbeaten West Michigan Thunderhawks last weekend. Now Richmond will look for a measure of revenge this weekend when they return to Rochester where they lost their only game of the season.
Arkansas Diamonds Head Coach Danton Barto is also on this week's show. The Diamonds are tied with the San Angelo Stampede-Express for first in the Lonestar East Division with 4-1 records. The two will go head-to-head this weekend in Texas.
After a slow start the Chicago Slaughter have won two games in a row and tied for 2nd place in the Central-North Division. Puska will spend time with Slaughter Head Coach Steve McMichael and the two will talk about the team's improved play and his relationship with owner Jim McMahon.

CLEVELAND, OH - Three teams from three different divisions are featured on the latest episode of This Week In The IFL.
Join host Denis J. Puska as he visits with the Vidswap.com Offensive Player Of The Week Julian Reese of the Amarillo Venom. Reese is coming off a terrific week where he completed 20 of 23 passes for 269 yards and 7 touchdowns in leading the Venom to a big victory over Austin.
Coach Sean Ponder of the Fairbanks Grizzlies is also on the program to discuss his club's 4-1 start and on recruiting players to come play in the great state of Alaska. The Grizzlies return to action this weekend when they visit the Tri-Cities Fever.
It's a .500 record for the Bloomington Extreme through their first four games. Head Coach Kenton Carr is on This Week In the IFL to talk about their upcoming schedule and what it will take for the Extreme to be successful this season.

Two undefeated coaches and a star quarterback featured

CLEVELAND, OH - Four teams remain undefeated in the Indoor Football League and two coaches of those teams are featured on the newest episode of This Week In The IFL. Join host Denis J. Puska as he visits with Coach Kurtiss Riggs of the Sioux Falls Storm. One of Sioux Falls big victories early this season was against the defending United Bowl Champion Billings Outlaws. 
Coach Terry Foster of The West Michigan Thunderhawks will also be on the show to talk about their recent success including wins over their rival Rochester Raiders.
Quarterback Dixie Wooten of the Wichita Wild was outstanding in the IFL's first National Television game. Wooten will be on This Week In The IFL to discuss how his team rallied in the second half to beat the Omaha Beef.

Gary Reasons, Jake Phillips and Jason Lee on Episode 3

Richmond, VA -- As the IFL landscape starts to take form, "This Week in the IFL," the Indoor Football League's Internet Radio Show, rolls into its third episode. This week's program will feature an interview will the new color analyst for all nationally televised IFL games, Gary Reasons. Join host Denis Puska as he visits with Reasons, as well two players previously honored as Vidswap.com IFL Players of the Week.

Reasons, who enjoyed a nine year NFL career that included two Super Bowl Championships, is a 17 year national broadcast veteran with ABC Sports and Fox Sports Net. He will provide insights into the IFL's nationally televised games, the first of which is scheduled for Monday night between Central West Division rivals the Wichita Wild and Omaha Beef.

Green Bay Blizzard QB and Week Two Offensive Player of the Week Jake Phillips will be on the program. The Blizzard are off to a 2-1 start thanks to his stellar play and leadership on the field. Corpus Christi Hammerheads DB and Week Three Defensive Player of the Week Jason Lee will also be on the program. The Hammerheads are also 2-1 and look to make an impact in the Lonestar East Division.

Two IFL Coaches headline the newest edition

CLEVELAND, OH - The Indoor Football League has a strong line-up of coaches this season and two of them will be featured on this week's all new edition of This Week In the IFL.
Join host Denis J. Puska as he visits with La Crosse Spartans Head Coach Gilbert Brown and West Texas Roughnecks' Chris Williams. Brown spent several seasons in the National Football League with the Green Bay Packers, and won a Super Bowl title with them. He is now the man in charge of the expansion Spartans. 
Williams has had several successful seasons as Head Coach with the Roughnecks and hopes to keep his team near the top of the Lonestar division. One of the Roughnecks top special teams players is also on the show as Johnny Anderson will discuss playing both offense and defense.

This Week In The IFL Debuts With A Great Line-Up

CLEVELAND, OH - The premier edition of a new show highlighting The Indoor Football League is now available for fans to listen to.
This Week In the IFL is a weekly show hosted by Denis J. Puska, the same person who has made Puska on Pucks, The Original Internet Hockey Show such a great success. The first show features a solid line-up of interviews including Billings Outlaws Head Coach Heron O'Neal who will talk about his team's plans on repeating as United Bowl Champions.
Richmond Revolution Assistant General Manager Charlie Hildbold will discuss his team's debut in the IFL and the support they have already received from fans in the city. Commissioner Tommy Benizio is also on the program to talk about the 2010 IFL season and the state of Indoor/Arena Football.
